1. Introduction
HydroPrep ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using the Service you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly (name, email, organisation) when you create an account. We automatically collect usage data (pages visited, features used, calculation counts) and technical data (IP address, browser type, device). Project data (nodes, edges, parameters) you create is stored in your account.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and improve the Service; process payments and manage subscriptions; send transactional emails (receipts, password resets); send product updates if you have opted in; analyse aggregate usage to improve features; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-Party Services
We use third-party processors including Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payment processing, PostHog for product analytics, and Sentry for error monitoring. Each processor is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Project data is retained until you delete it or close your account. Anonymised usage analytics may be retained indefinitely. After account closure, personal data is deleted within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict processing; and data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@hydroprep.app. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Product analytics (PostHog) uses first-party cookies only. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect Service functionality.
9. International Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
